Florida Keys Nolan Turner

On this expedition in the Keys, I had earned many privileges and had a lot of advantages in the Keys. It has only been a month and I’m already back in the Florida Keys. Here are some of the benefits and advantages I gained in the Florida Keys.

Some of the privileges I gained from this expedition were becoming junior adventure SCUBA certified, getting to fish, and getting to see my old field staff Suzanne. Getting to fish is really fun and even more fun when you catch one. Seeing my previous field staff was cool because I hadn't seen her in 8 to 9 months and because she was one of the best field staff ever!

The advantages that I have at SOAR over traditional schools is being able to be in the Florida Keys rather than being in a classroom doing school. Other advantages are having one big classroom outside, in nature, right by the ocean, and doing school for 3 hours rather than being in multiple classrooms for 7 hours.

Those things are the best things about SOAR to me. These privileges are great incentives to help us want to get our stuff done. The advantages can help us get things done and are also helpful to me because even though I can get easily distracted, I would still rather be outside doing school for 3 hours rather than being inside a classroom for 7 hours. The Florida Keys are warm and awesome to stay at and now I'm heading back to freezing cold North Carolina.
